Introduction to Ceramic Pottery: Throwing on the Wheel

Instructor: Debbie Sundlee

An introductory class in wheel throwing for the beginning pottery enthusiast.  Class includes the fundamental preparation of clay, the techniques of centering and throwing, texturing, trimming, and personalizing your work, and the final finishing for a completed, glazed, wheel-thrown pottery piece.  

Loading and firing a kiln will be also be demonstrated.

Required tools are available at Yakima Maker Space for student use.  Registration cost includes 25lbs of stoneware clay.

5 sessions - Mon Jan 7th, Thu Jan 10th, Mon Jan 14 , Thur Jan 17, TBD (glazing)

Class Time:  6:00 - 8:00PM

Min. 2, Max 4 students

Suggested Age:  16 years to adult

Members:  $150 + $30 materials

Non-Members:  $165 + $30 materials.

MAKER SPACE HOURS

Members: 24/7 Access

Public Open Hours: Saturdays: 10am-2pm
